Time Passes Quickly ...

Well ...it's obvious I have very little talent for keeping this blog up to date!

A great deal has transpired since my last post.
The issues with my computing device was easily fixed ...nothing harmed at all on the hard drive.

I will start adding samples of my adventures shortly.

Merry Christmas !!

The holiday season has crept up on us very quickly here at Spirit Photography and with any luck there will be some good quality down time.
I plan to get the camera out and enjoy the great outdoors this winter so stay tuned for the results of my many trips to the mountains and of course the wide open prairie that this country offers up to those of us lucky enough to live out west.
To all who have supported me thru the past months my heart felt gratitude.

December Wedding

Traveled to the city of Medicine Hat this weekend to help out a fellow photographer and a good friend Susan.
The task at hand was to shoot a wedding for a great young couple ...a very original and creative young couple.





They threw convention to the wind and allowed Susan's talents to shine.
I was the "paparazzi" ...concentrating on some casual candids and some minor portrait work where required.
All in all a great day!

Fortress ...aka...the dog

Had a great afternoon today with a couple I have known for some time. They asked me if I would photograph their dog and since I am a dog person at heart I could only readily agree!

So meet Fortress ... and 8 year old racer that has been bounced around from home to home since retiring from his chosen profession. Greg and Meredith rescued him and have started the slow but rewarding process of bonding with an animal really has never been able to enjoy life simply as a dog. The couple love Fortress and it was obvious to me that this should be his last home.


So an unusual warm day in Southern Alberta allowed us to play outside for a bit.
Fortress did very well with the static portrait shots but was somewhat shy about me photographing him running thru the park so needless to say there were few action shots!

The Neudorf Family

Excellent day with the Neudorf family on Saturday.
The shoot went off as planned ...on time and the weather cooperated surprisingly well considering what the weather is capable of in Calgary in November.
The family seem pleased with the effort and I hope they enjoy the results.
I wish all shoots would go this smooth.
We even managed to get some jumping shots in ...which I will post after the family has chosen their photo's.
So to Jesse, Beth, Curtis, Tara and Lana ... I say thanks for a great day!

Edit ...edit ....process ...edit ....

Spent a great deal of time this weekend editing and creating the galleries for the site ....another couple of days and I should have everything cropped,watermarked and loaded.

I have been reviewing over 3000 images to narrow them down to a group that best represents my style and what I think people will appreciate. I never though it would be this difficult but it served as an excellent exercise in self critiquing.

So stay tuned ...I'll let you know when I get everything up and pretty like ....
